Itinerary of the Tour from Fes to Marrakech

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Cedars forest – Midelt – Ziz valley – Merzouga

The Tour from Fes to Marrakech has begun! We’ll pick you up from your Fes lodging and drive you through Imouzzer to Ifrane. The city is well-known for its chilly climate, snowfall, and Alpine architectural-style homes. It is known as “Morocco’s Switzerland” for this reason.

Our next trip is the cedar forest, which is home to the Barbary macaques. Feel free to feed them while exploring the forest. Later, we’ll eat lunch in Midelt. We continue to Merzouga over the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and the Ziz valley after halting for panoramic views.

We depart in the late afternoon for Merzouga, a Saharan desert where you will ride a camel and explore. You’ll stop to watch the sunset from the top of a high dune. Finally, you arrive at the camp, which is a hybrid of basic nomadic tents and hotel magnificence.

Dance around the bonfire and listen to the beat of the Berber drums while stargazing beneath a huge open sky. Dinner and an overnight stay will be provided by the desert camp.

Day 2: Merzouga – Nomads – Khamlia – Merzouga lake – Erg Chebbi – Palm Grove

Getting up early in the morning to see the stunning sunrise over the desert is a must, followed by a traditional Moroccan breakfast. The driver will be waiting for you when you return to Merzouga on camels. The day is spent touring the Merzouga area.

There are also dunes, natural lakes, mines, and fossil sites in the area, as well as a beautiful oasis. These are excellent locations for a variety of outdoor activities.

In Merzouga, we begin our adventure by driving off-road to an ancient eyeliner mine. Later, we get to see nomads in their handcrafted tents. While learning about their way of life, have a cup of Berber tea! The Khamlia hamlet will be our next stop, where you will watch Gnaoua music and dance performances.

After lunch, we go for a walk in the palm tree grove. We next drive a few kilometers farther to explore Flamingo Lake, a wild lake near Merzouga. After dinner, spend the night in a hotel.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todgha gorges – Dades valley

After breakfast on this day of the Fes to Marrakech Tour, we leave the desert to tour Rissani town, the historical capital of Tafilalet. Rissani, with its busy souk, is a vital commerce centre in the region.

Following a tour to Rissani Souk, we head to Erfoud to visit one of the fossilized marble workshops. We proceed through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad to reach the Todra Gorges. The Todra river’s course has carved a vast canyon through the mountains, with red cliff sides.

After lunch, we travel to the Dades Valley via Boumalne Dades. We’ll stop at the “monkey fingers” rock formation with views of the Dades Valley. A motel awaits you for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate

After breakfast, we travel to Kalaa Magouna to see the Rose Valley. Residents offer rose goods ranging from fragrances and rose water to cosmetics at the Rose Festival in May. Then we go through Skoura’s palm groves.

We eventually arrive at the Desert Gate, popularly known as Ouarzazate. We’ll go to the studios where famous films were created as well as the Kasbah of Taourirt. A local hotel awaits you for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Ait Benhaddou Kasbah – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

We travel to the well-known Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. It is a fortified village that has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Kasbah has also been featured in a number of films and television series.

After travelling over the spectacular High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, we arrive in Marrakech and drop you off at your hotel or airport after a lunch break.
