You will see numerous little Berber communities and Moroccan landscapes on the 8-day Itinerary from Marrakech. You’ll also spend one night sleeping beneath the stars while riding a camel over the limitless sands of Morocco’s Sahara Desert.
The first stage in the Itinerary from Marrakech is getting picked up early from the airport or your hostel in Marrakech. After crossing the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, go straight ahead to the lovely High Atlas highlands.
The famous Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a walled hamlet that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is where we next head. A number of movies and television shows have used The Kasbah, most notably Game of Thrones. Then, for supper and overnight accommodations, we go to Ouarzazate, sometimes referred to as “The Gate of the Desert.”
After we tour Ouarzazate and its film studios, we travel to Kalaa Magouna to see Rose Valley. Every year in May, the community holds a rose festival when they sell anything from fragrances, rose water, and oil, to cosmetics. Next, we travel by other Kasbahs, including Amridil Kasbah, which is encircled by a forest of Skoura palm trees.
We take Boumalne Dades to the Dades Valley after lunch. At the “monkey fingers” rock formation, where you can see the Dades Valley, we’ll make a halt. You’ll have dinner and spend the night at a hotel.
After breakfast, we pass via Erfoud, Tinjdad, and Touroug. We’ll take a break to see the rock formations along the route. Then we reach Merzouga in the Sahara Desert. To get throughout the arid desert, camels will be used. You will be led to the peak of a soaring dune to see the setting sun.
Travel to the camp and dance to Berber drum music around the campfire beneath the expansive starry sky. Included are supper and one night spent in a tent in the desert.
A must-see is the sunrise over the desert, followed by a Moroccan breakfast. The driver will be there to pick you up as soon as you get back in Merzouga on camels.
The region features dunes, lakes, mines, and fossil sites in addition to a beautiful oasis. These areas are excellent for a variety of outdoor activities.
To reach a former eyeliner mine in Merzouga, we go off-road. Then we arrived at a group of nomads in tents. While learning about their culture, have some tea! Our next stop is the village of Khamlia, where you may hear Gnaoua music.
We locate the palm tree grove after lunch. Our next stop is Flamingo Lake, a nearby natural lake. Dinner and a hotel stay are both recommended.
We depart the desert on our way to Rissani, the old seat of Tafilalet. The city of Rissani, which is home to a major souk, serves as an important commercial engine in the region. We travel to Erfoud after touring the Rissani souk and a petrified marble workshop.
Along the Ziz River we travel. We pause to take in the wide-open view of the Ziz valley. After eating lunch in Midelt, we move on to the cedar forest to observe the Barbary Macaques. We take a plane to Ifrane, a place famous for its subzero weather, snow, and Alpine-style homes.
Once you arrive in Fes, we will drop you off at your hotel.
On our Itinerary from Marrakech, a local guide will take us around Fes after breakfast. The Royal Palace entrance and the beautifully maintained medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are our first stops of the day.
The Blue Gate, commonly referred to as Bab Boujloud, is the entryway to the historic Medina. By entering the Medina, one may visit the Quaraouin mosque, the oldest university in the world, the Medrasa Bouanania, the Najarine fountain, the tanneries, and much more.
We next depart Medina and make our way to “the Mellah,” the Jewish section of the city. We go to an old stronghold in the late afternoon to get a broad view over the Medina and the city of Fes. Visit a Riad for the evening.
We head for Meknes, the Ismaili sect’s capital and one of the imperial towns. We visit Bab Al-Mansour, the Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal stables, and the granary in addition to the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum.
We go 30 kilometers to Volubilis to visit the ancient Roman ruins after lunch. It has been exquisitely safeguarded as a result of being listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. It also has some stunning mosaics that are scattered throughout, as well as old pillars and arches.
Following our exploration of the ruins, we travel through Ouazzane to Chefchaouen, also referred to as the Blue City and situated in the Rif Mountains. The city is well known for its buildings and lanes that are painted blue. Visit a hotel for the evening.
After breakfast, we’ll travel via the Rif Mountains to Tangier Airport to conclude our Itinerary from Marrakech.
