Itinerary of the Marrakech to Fes Desert Tour

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Benhaddou – Roses Valley – Dades Valley

An early pick-up from the airport or your lodging in Marrakech marks the beginning of the Marrakech to Fes Desert Tour. Then, take a trip across the Tizi-N-Tichka pass and the magnificent High Atlas highlands.

Following that, we carry on to the well-known Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which UNESCO has designated a fortified settlement as a World Heritage Site. In addition, the Kasbah has appeared in several films and television shows, including Game of Thrones.

Then, we go to “The gate of the desert” Ouarzazate. After lunch, we will continue to see the Rose Valley, passing past Skoura’s vast palm grove. Our destination for the night is Boumalne Dades, where we drive there at the conclusion.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga – Luxury Camp

Following breakfast, we travel through the Dades Valley and pause to take in the breathtaking Dades Gorges scenery from a vantage point overlooking the valley.

We next travel on to Todra Gorges, where you may explore the gorges and take in the natural beauty of the surroundings. The Todra River cut out a huge canyon through the mountains on its path. Following that, we travel through the Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves.

We arrive in the afternoon, after a lunch stop, in the Sahara desert of Merzouga where you transfer to camels to traverse the dusty desert. You will be taken to the summit of a high dune to see the spectacular sunset.

Continue on to the luxurious camp in the desert, where you may dance around the campfire to the sounds of Berber drums beneath the huge open sky filled with stars. Have supper and spend the night in the camp.

Day 3: Merzouga – Erfoud – Midelt – Cedar forest – Ifrane – Fes

Get up early in the morning to see the gorgeous sunrise in the middle of the desert! Breakfast is served before returning on camels to Merzouga, where your driver awaits.

After leaving the desert, we travel to Rissani Town, the former seat of the Tafilalet government. Rissani remains a key trade center in the region, with a bustling souk on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

We travel to Erfoud after a stroll through the Rissani souk and visit one of the fossilized marble factories.
Following that, we travel down the Ziz river, stopping for a panoramic vista of the Ziz valley. Lunch in Midelt is optional.

The Barbary Macaques reside in the woodland of cedars, where we then proceed. While exploring the forest, feel free to give them food. Then, we go to Ifrane, which is known for its low temperatures, snow, and alpine-style residences. That is why it is known as Morocco’s Switzerland.

Last but not least, we deliver you to the Fes airport or your hotel to end our Marrakech to Fes Desert Tour.
